From the Fields to the Capitol: Jamie’s Journey

Jamie Johansson isn’t your typical candidate. He’s a farmer who knows what it means to work hard, get his hands dirty, and provide for a family. When times were tough, Jamie dug ditches by hand to pay the bills. Those moments taught him the true value of perseverance and grit.

With nothing but passion and a dream, Jamie taught himself to farm olives and citrus, working tirelessly in the fields. In 1998, he began managing orchards in the Oroville area to fulfill contracts supplying olives to the Bay Area and has been a farmer ever since.

As a first-generation farmer, Jamie quickly faced California’s maze of laws, regulations, and taxes—policies that make it harder for everyday people to live the American dream. Determined to make a difference, Jamie joined the Butte County Farm Bureau Board, was elected to the Oroville City Council, and later served as President of the California Farm Bureau. He fought against tax hikes, bureaucratic regulations, rallied thousands of farmers to the Capitol to protect our water rights, and stood with President Trump to secure a relief package that saved many local farms.

"I’m a farmer, a husband, and a father who’s never been afraid to roll up my sleeves and get to work. I’m running for State Assembly to fight for hardworking families, protect our way of life, and ensure Northern California’s voice is heard."

Now, with inflation, wildfires, and woke Sacramento policies hurting Northern California families, Jamie is running for State Assembly. He’s stood up to Gavin Newsom, is ready to fight to lower the cost of living and will protect the American dream for hard-working people. Jamie Johansson is a proud husband, father, and farmer. He’s ready to roll up his sleeves and get the job done.

Jamie lives in south Chico with his wife, Nicole, and their three children. When he’s not working, Jamie can be found building a pig pen for his kids’ fair project, cheering the kids on at their sporting events or leading the local scout troop.
